I write middle grade and YA fantasy. Do I make sacrifices? Yes. But never living creatures and usually the muses only require sour patch kids in exchange for inspiration. Okay, I’ll be serious for a second. Writing takes time and constant effort. After I’ve taught middle school all day, guarded the house from dust bunnies, spent time with wifey and baby, and wrestled with my bulldog until I’m dead, I pull up to the computer and sprinkle fairy dust (lots of sugar) in my coffee to induce the magic. Why do I put myself through this?
Because I must.

You are lucky to work with kids – it gives you an “in” for their lingo, ideals, morals, and oftentimes wicked sense of direction.

Thanks Julie. I feel that it’s a blessing as well (most of the time). Once I get the story to the level I want it at, I’m even going to use some trusted readers for feedback.
I like wordpress much more
Bummer! I forgot to change my blog address. Got tired of Blogspot and headed over to WordPress (great stuff!).
